我在美國求學時常聽到老美說:「There you go!」
1. There you go!
(= Now you are doing it right! // Now you have the right attitude.)
A: I can do it. I just need to try harder.
B: There you go!
Son: I’ll devote my full time to studying and stop messing around.
Father: There you go! That’s great.
2. Here you are. // Here you go.
A: Here you are, Tome. Have some coffee.
B: No, I’m cool.
3. Here we go.
Here we go! The game’s starting.
4. There you are.
a.
There you are. I’ve brought your breakfast.
b.
(= That’s the way things are.)
There’s nothign more that can be done. We’ve done what we could. So, there you are.
5. Here we go again. // There you go again.
(We’re going to experience the same thing again. We’re going to hear or discuss the same thing again.)
Teacher: Now I’d like to discuss your behaviour in class yesterday.
Student (對著自己說): Here we go agian.
