版主今天要介紹一則新的美國脫口秀，名為 ” Goes to the Pharmacy” (上藥房取藥)，美國的醫藥分業做得非常徹底，診所通常不會附設藥局，病人必須帶醫師處方前去藥房取藥。而且，美國的藥劑師權力頗大，可以針對處方藥品，提出成分相同、但價格較為便宜的另一種藥品供病人參考，這點在台灣似乎很少見。

這篇英文脫口秀的內容是關於取藥時的趣事，演出者為 “Jim Gaffigan” ，版主曾經上載過過他的其他段子，有興趣的網友請參照『英文聽力練習：Hot Pockets (Comedy)』。

 

  

 

◎  THere’s everything is the drug store like drugs or deodorant.
藥房有各種東西，如藥品或消除體臭的除臭劑。

 

◎  Oh now I get this chelesterol medication.  I’ll get some ice cream, a king-size snickers, and a CASKET.
我手頭有一張治療高膽固醇的藥方。我還要點冰淇淋，一條超大的「士力架巧克力」，還有再買一個棺材。
(取笑自己不知死活，明明膽固醇過高，還要吃垃圾食物，不過有自知之明，記得會買棺材。)

 

◎  It’s interesting dynamic s in the drug store cuz there are people that work on the drug store floor that always seem like to quit or kill themselves.
藥房的人際互動很值得玩味。在前台工作的員工經常看起來想要辭職或者自殺。
dynamics = the way in which people behave, react or affect each other

 
◎ And there’s the pharmacist in the back. Glass cage and the white lab coat like a wizard.
藥劑師則在後面玻璃櫃工作，穿著白色的實驗衣，就像個巫師一樣。

 

◎ In commercials, the pharmacists are always the niceset persons on earth. Hey, how’re you doing? The prescription is on me.   In reality,  doesn’t it always seems that you’re inconveniencing  the pharmacists - What do you want? I’m working on my time machine.  
在電視廣告中，藥劑師總是讓人覺得他們是全世界最親切的人。你看他們說：您好，配藥的事情就交給我們來處理！實際上，你不覺得自己好像老是在打擾藥劑師嗎？(藥劑師說) 有啥鳥事？我正忙著製造時光機！

 

◎ I need this filled. Yeah, it could be like five hours! Why don’t you go to sit on the middle chair across the condoms.
病人: 我想要拿藥。 
藥劑師：知道了，配藥可能要五個小時！你去保險套過去一點的椅子坐著等。

拿藥方取藥的英文說法是：
A: I’d like to have this prescription filled.
B: It’ll be ready in 5 minutes.

 

◎ Do you ever sit in the middle chair? Humiliating!  People would say, “What kind of disease does he have?” ”I have alot of em!! Just hangin out with the condoms!” 
你會作在那張椅子上嗎？哪可真丟人。別人會覺得：他有什麼毛病啊？(你為了辯解會說) : 我有很多… ，嗯只是看看這些保險套好不好用。 

 

◎ I don’t understand what’s the wait for?  Why does it take 5 hours to put 6 pills in an orange cup? What? Are they trying to hit it from 10 feet away? Takes time to come back. I’m a pharmacist, not a basketball player.  “I’m actually winded from doing that.” “He was out of shape. He should work out.”
我搞不清楚為何要等這麼久？把六個藥丸放到橘色的藥盒為什麼要五個小時？難道他們是從十英尺以外將藥丸丟進去的嗎？來跑回還得花時間。(藥劑師說抱怨說) 我可是個藥劑師，不是打籃球的，這樣丟藥丸讓我上氣不接下氣。(表演者挖苦說) 他身體不太好，應該要多運動。

 

◎ It’s hard to find time to work out when you really don’t want to. “Can’t do it now cuz I don’t want to.  And later on, I’m not gonna be interested.” 
當你不想運動的時候，就很難挪出時間。「我現在不想運動，稍後我可能也不會想做。」

 

◎  ”It only takes twenty minutes a day. Twenty minutes.”   ”Yeah, too many.”
「一天只要運動二十分鐘就可以。」「嗯，時間太長了。」

 

◎ ”Do you make it no minutes?” ” Those work out closes the comfortable to watch television then.  Thanks. Tonight I thinks I’ll finish this law and order marathon.”
「你都不運動了嗎？」「運動後讓我不能舒舒服服看電視，謝啦！我今晚想要把《特殊受害者》電視影集看完。」

 

 ◎ I’ ve got those membership cards that are scary cuz one time there’re people sneaking in to work. That’s like breaking into the Gap to fold sweaters.  
我有會員卡，但是那讓人有點害怕，因為曾經有人侵入俱樂部去運動。這有點像是侵入 GAP 服飾店去折運動杉一樣。
