Beauty and the Beast

New studies show that attractive women who date less attractive men have better relationships. This is because most men stress the importance of beauty while most women stress being treated well. In general, such couples are more supportive of each other, and they enjoy being together more. The studies also discovered that one out of every three couples fits this description.

 根據新的研究，美女若與長相較為普通的男性交往，感情會較為幸福，原因是多數男人注重外貌，而多數女性則重視自己是否受到善待。一般而言，這類伴侶不僅較能相互扶持，相處也比較融洽。研究也發現，每三對情侶就有一對符合這種情況。

Studies show that when the man in a couple is more attractive, the couple offers each other less support. The amount of support a woman gives depends on how supportive her boyfriend is. More attractive men often think they can have prettier girlfriends. Therefore, they have no interest in keeping their relationships strong. Less attractive men with beautiful girlfriends think they are getting more than what they deserve. As a result, they work harder to keep their girlfriends happy.

 研究指出，伴侶中的男方若較為俊俏，彼此比較不會相互扶持。女性會給予多少支持，端視男友有多支持她。較具吸引力的男性常常覺得能交到更漂亮的女友，便無心維繫感情，而那些擁有美麗女友、但較不吸引人的男性，會覺得自己得到的比應得的多更多，因此他們會加倍努力地讓女友開心。

　　

It seems that an uneven match is the best match. For a relationship to work, two people don’t need to have the same good looks. However, they must have the same amount of respect, love, and commitment for each other.

 不對等的組合似乎才是絕配。感情若要長久，不一定非得俊男配美女，而是雙方都必須給予彼此同等的尊重、愛情與承諾。
